Where've You Been?!

Recently a friend of mine mentioned that I have been neglecting this here blog of mine! With a sense of shame I had to agree with her! It's been over a month since my last post and I couldn't think to tell her where I'd been in that last month or what I was even getting up to! I guess that saying "time flies when you're having fun" has more than a ring of truth to it...or, as I've often suspected, I might have the world's worst memory! Lemme see if I can remember what's been happening...

First, there was this amazing trip to the beach. Anyone who knows me and has occassion to read the above statement is probably lying prone on the floor. I am definitely not a beach person. Once, a friend of mine mentioned how she loved to go to the beach and watch the sunrise and I looked at her and said, "you wake up EARLY to get all DIRTY in the sand?" It just didn't make sense to me. Still doesn't. I'm more of a lie by the pool with a good book person. Although I must admit I thoroughly enjoyed running around in the sand, screaming like a little kid every time the water hit my feet and generally being my over dramatic self.

Then there was a New Years concert with a friend and her sister. Now I'm not a regular at any kind of concert but the possibility of hanging out with a friend while reigning in the New Year was too much to resist! We schleped our way through the deepest of mud and rain to set up our camp chairs ruining two pairs of favourite shoes(a pair of leopard print pumps and a pair of star white plimsols)-or so we thought. We sang and danced...and made the decision that next time, we were doing it like the English and getting ourselves a pair of wellies!

Recently there was a day at the mall hanging out with some friends in honour of a friend's birthday! We cruised the mall, picking up some sale items and other "essentials". My favourite purchase of the day was this amazing sling bag in a colour I was told was "tres hipster". Pics will definitely be up soon!

Since we've been on vaycay for almost 3 months now, I am well aware that the fun must end soon. The Fokshys(my friends) shall depart to the fairer shores of the Cape while I remain in Durban, we'll all be waking up early, staying up late and trying to make it another year through college. Until then though, I'm gonna be making the best of what remains of my summer holiday!
